Holding a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Montreal (École la Polytechnique) and an MBA from Concordia University, Normand has been working in the field of microelectronics for nearly 30 years. He held various management positions in engineering and production services for IBM Canada Ltd. before being appointed Executive Director of Bromont in February 2005.
Beginning in 2007, Normand devoted time and energy to establishing a unique Research and Development Center model aimed at consolidating the position of the microelectronics industry in Bromont, Quebec and Canada.
His determination and leadership gave birth to C2MI. Starting in 2009, he was responsible for building the infrastructure of this innovative Research and Development Center, in collaboration with the founding members (IBM Canada Ltd., Teledyne DALSA, Université de Sherbrooke). Unique, the C2MI offers infinite collaboration and business opportunities related to the fields surrounding the manufacture of embedded systems. C2MI was recognized as a Center of Excellence for Commercialization and Research by Industry Canada in February 2011.
Now president and general manager of the Technum Quebec innovation zone, Normand has been acting as project manager for C2MI since April 2022.
About Bruno Guglielmetti, Independent consultant in digital communication strategy
Bruno Guglielmetti worked for Radio-Canada for 23 years. Mainly in the production / production of radio programs for Radio-Canada and in parallel, for the past 15 years, to deal with new technologies on all the antennas of the Canadian public broadcaster. From 1996 to 2003, he published in the Montreal daily La Presse while writing a weekly column in Le Devoir from 2005 to 2010.
In 2003, Bruno received the Prize for Communicator of the Year awarded by the International Association of Communication Professionals, then that of Merit of the French language in the field of new technologies from the OQLF in 2004, as well as the prize of Excellence in Science and Technology Journalism from the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance in Ottawa in 2009.
Building on his experience and his awards, Bruno Guglielmetti incorporated the public relations firm NATIONAL as a consulting director on the various communication strategies on digital platforms. After these four years, he joined Gilbert Rozon's management team as General Manager of the Digital Division of the Just For Laughs / Just For Laughs Group to establish the group's digital strategy and coordinate the efforts of the various business units.
